TDP vs YCP: TDP chief Chandrababu wrote a letter to state Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan on the political developments in Andhra Pradesh. VCP ranks have complained of attacks on offices across the state, including the Telugu Desam party headquarters. The letter alleged that law and order had failed in Andhra Pradesh. In his letter, Chandrababu complained to the governor that opposition party offices and leaders were being attacked. Chandrababu asked Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan to impose Article 356 in the state and send recommendations to the Center to that effect. Chandrababu demanded an inquiry with the CBI into the attacks on TDP offices and TDP leaders. He also appealed to the governor to protect the offices of the opposition parties by the central forces.
It is learned that party leader Chandrababu went on an indefinite 36-hour protest at the TDP office in Mangalagiri to protest the YCP’s attacks on Telugu Desam party offices and party leaders. It was during this time that he wrote a letter to the Governor. The state government has been accused of abuse of power. YCP leaders and activists have come under fire for behaving like rowdies and launching attacks on leaders of opposition parties. He also wrote letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, including President of India Ramnath Kovind on the same subject. He demanded the imposition of a presidential rule in the AP and the protection of opposition party leaders and offices by the central forces. There have been sensational allegations that democracy is being murdered in the state.
