Badvel By Election: The process of withdrawal of election nominations in Badvelu constituency ended today. Several candidates who had filed nominations in the Badvelu by-election ring withdrew their nominations on Wednesday. After the withdrawal of several candidates’ nominations, 15 candidates stood in the competition. However, the contest was mainly between the ruling party YCP, BJP and Congress candidates.
Three independent candidates withdrew their nominations today. Since the notification was issued, 27 nominations have been filed till the nomination deadline. Nominations for the nomination of 9 candidates were rejected due to lack of proper documents. Finally, after the withdrawal of nominations, 15 candidates contested in the Badwell by-election.
